Timeline

Transforming New York's Refrigeration Industry, Together

The New York Natural Refrigerant Workforce Development Program is a statewide initiative funded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), designed to build the technical capacity, recruitment pipeline, and industry coordination needed to support New York’s transition to low-global-warming-potential refrigeration technologies.

Understanding the Program

As part of the program, NASRC will deliver a series of regionally accessible, hands-on natural refrigerant technician trainings across New York. These low-cost trainings combine a vendor-neutral classroom session with guided learning at a live operating system, helping refrigeration technicians build practical knowledge of system operation, service, maintenance, controls, and troubleshooting.

Host a Technician Training

NASRC is seeking host partners for hands-on natural refrigerant technician trainings across New York. Training host applications are open until October 23rd!

To learn more about hosting, view host criteria here.

Why participate

Hosting a training is an opportunity to:

  • Build the capacity of your own technicians and local service network.
  • Host site technicians receive priority registration for training.
  • Increase the number of technicians prepared to work safely and effectively on natural refrigerant systems.
  • Help strengthen New York’s statewide readiness for evolving refrigeration technologies and refrigerant requirements.
