Propane Use in Self-contained Cases

The North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC) invites you to participate in a workshop to develop an action plan to increase the maximum propane charge size allowed in commercial self-contained refrigerated cases.
Workshop Goals
- Agree on an NASRC action plan to overcome the codes and standards hurdles that are preventing the use of self-contained refrigeration equipment with larger propane charge sizes
- Identify next steps for translating NFPA research results into equipment safety recommendations
- Review examples of existing equipment design, safety, and servicing standards for higher propane charge sizes available in other countries
- Discuss the desire among supermarket end-users to use self-contained supermarket systems and the corresponding need for equipment that fills that need
- Examine codes, standards, and guidelines for large propane charge sizes in other industries

- Supermarket end users, service contractors, equipment manufacturers, engineering consultants, US EPA SNAP Team, ASHRAE, UL, RSES, trade organizations, environmental non-profits and NASRC staff
